Greetings,
This is the final announcement of the Lancair flyin at Dayton, Nevada this
Saturday, May 12. Participation looks great! Thirty two people confirmed and 17
airplanes.
Where: Dayton Valley Airpark (A34), east of Carson City, Nevada. Parking is
at the extreme east end of the airport, north of the runway. Jim and Sue
Coelho's hangar will give us shade and a place to sit.
When: Saturday, May 12, 2012. Arrive around 10:00 AM and leave in the
afternoon
Food: We'll provide lunch and water for a $5 contribution
Facilities: No fuel and no FBO. For fuel, you can land at Silver Springs
(SPZ), a few minutes away. They usually have cheap gas, at least by California
standards. Today's price is $5.27 per gallon. Dayton's runway is unlighted
and has no instrument approach. The pavement is in very good condition. People
who want to spend the night can fly to Carson City or Reno at the end of the
flyin, where more facilities are available.
New concern: There is a presidential TFR around Reno, which includes the
airspace over Dayton, for Friday the day before the flyin. Be sure to check
TFR's before arriving!
See you there,
Dennis Johnson
