Adding to Lorn’s comment.

1… Put some solvent in a touch up paint gun and clean grit from in and around bleeder valve before opening it.

2… Remove bleeder plug, clean and dry internal passages with spray gun.

3… Double fold a piece of Teflon tape and rap tightly around threads, 2-3 threads from tip, to form a seal while filling.

4… Seat piston fully into caliper.

5… Install plug, back off 1 turn.

6...Use a calibrated syringe (100-300cc depending on your system.) to fill system and reservoir. High flow rate will sweep bubbles through high loops.

7... Note the number of cc’s to fill system including reservoir. Write the number on the syringe with a sharpie and cover with clear packing tape for future reference. Worn pads may require additional fluid after closing bleeder and pumping up system.

Subject: [LML] Re: brake caliper

Brad,

Aircraft brakes are now bled like a car. They are filled from the bottom up.

Open the brake line at the bleeder. Let all of the fluid out. Put the fluid back in from the bottom. An oil can filled with brake fluid, attached to the bleeder with a rubber hose is the normal way to do the fill. When the fluid runs out the top, the brakes are bled.

I was careful to remove the line from the caliper and then capped off the line while I had the caliper off. I installed the caliper after replacing the "O" rings and then screwed on the flexible line and had someone inside apply pressure to the brake (like in a car) and loosened the bottom bleeder valve until fluid ran out. brake is still spongy . Any help on this
