If you only use one of the range switches (on the PFD or MFD), then go ahead and swap the displays and re-install the system software.  I find I rarely use the range on the PFD.

Does anyone know where I can get a "range" switch for a G900/G1000?
The one in my ESP has worn out after just 450 hrs. (It only changes between 100 and 150NM miles, when I rotate the knob in both directions) Garmin want $1300 just to look at it !
Maybe someone has a salvaged screen they would sell?
