In my case, the part number for the flasher is:
CODE 3
Headlight Flasher
Model 360HL
I obtained it at a commercial vehicle lighting supply shop that provides parts
to the ambulance and police vehicle industries. Can't remember the name of
the place 'cause it's been 5 years since I picked it up but the manufacturer's
name is CODE 3.
The part number of the fixture is:
QLV-1
Got the part at San Diego Electric on University Avenue is San Diego, CA.
Make sure the slots in the ceramic part of the fixture are wide enough to
accommodate the pins on the back of the lamps. These fixtures cost around
$7.00 each. You can probably get the lamps at the same place.
The lamps I used were GE 12V 50W spots for the landing lights and a GE 12V 50W
flood for the taxi light. I got mine at Home Depot and were around $11.00
each. If I had a greater capacity alternator (am using a 40A unit), I could
have used higher wattage lamps, but these are more than adequate. They really
see me coming and are equally bright as 100W incandescent units you see on
most aircraft.
Be sure to use very thin safety wire to hold the back of the lamp firmly in
the fixture.
For the wing-mounted landing/pulse lights I mounted the fixtures on hinge-
stock and used a nut-plate and screw for adjustment. Small springs were used
to oppose the adjustment screw and the whole thing was riveted to an aluminum
plate that mounts on the bottom of the leading edge with nut plates.
For the nose gear mounted taxi, light I just mounted the fixture on an
aluminum plate that mounted between the top of the fork and the bottom of the
strut.
