John,

Thanks for speaking with me today.

One of the biggest issues that we are seeing with our Aviation customers is the = delay in the mail processing. Our USPS office (Northwest Station), installed a = new sorter last year. Unfortunately, this new unit does not sort the = cylinder mailers (like the old one did), and those are sorted by hand. To make it = even worse, they don=92t seem to be in much of a hurry to do hand sorting. = This causes a delay in samples getting to us; and sometimes [in extreme = cases] up to 6 weeks.

I have spoken with the postmaster and other staff there many times, and the = situation is not getting any better. Nor, do we think it will any time = soon.

We are advising customers to ship their samples either by UPS, or (if still = wanting to use the mail), by putting the sample in a box or pouch. In response to = the issues we have had with USPS regarding the cylinders, our new AOA kits = have been changed to pouches (which the sorting machine seems to handle just = fine).

I apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused. I appreciate = any help you can offer in getting the word out.

Thanks!

---------------

Chris Mitchell
