The GTX327 sounds like a good idea to me, I actually love this transponder
as it is easy, switches on on take off, standby after landing, easy to
reach the buttons etc. But as you already have TCAS you do not need TIS,
that is wasting money as it is not possible (as far as I know) just to
switch from TCAS to TIS in the air by a simple switch lol

A remote transponder, most likely mounted in the tail would only increase
your tail heavy plane ;)~ The Garmins are pretty reliable, just make sure
the little belly antenna doesn't get greased over (funny but it actually
was an issue on my and many other cirrus), so antenna placement is very
important.

Just my humble opinion, not an expert, just a user :)
