Recently purchased a Garmin GPS III Pilot and am very pleased with it. So far,
it has seen about 90 hours of use (20 in flight and 70 in truck). It's now
difficult to find my way to the hardware store without GPS guidance.
I need a better antenna solution while operating in the truck and would prefer
not to write a check to Garmin for another $100 for their remote antenna and
cable. Have any of you seen an inexpensive design for a GPS antenna which we
could build ourselves? It would be both educational as well as fun I think.I
have no idea what is inside your typical GPS antenna but it can't be much.
