My 320 has long mount & short tail also.  Handling fine, rudder authority runs out once fully stalled -- aircraft translates in the yaw direction with no altitude loss.

Pump is now behind the copilot seat, was originally behind the firewall on copilot side but later model pumps were slightly larger so had to move.  this actually improved CG since we were slightly out on the forward end when at 0 fuel.  Added a bulkhead behind pump to baggage area and access panel right behind copilot seat for hydraulic fluid check, maintenance, etc.

Battery is behind firewall -- no header tank.  Have wing tip extensions and built into tanks for additional 8.6gal fuel. Wing tip extensions lowered stall speed 4Kts (now 60Kts) dirty but paid a 4Kts speed penalty on low altitude cruise of about 3 Kts (now 198Kts).  Roll rate has decreased significantly -- now 120 deg/sec vs. >210 deg/sec with short tips.  Designed to allow short and long tip exchange in about 30 minutes.  Nice option for long distance travel.

Bill,
Just curious, where did your battery and hydraulic pump end up?  I have same configuration, except for 3 blade MT prop and have been considering behind the seat for the pump and firewall for the battery!  ( not yet weighed for cg )
