When I was having aluminum painted by a professional paint shop for flight=
 on the Space Shuttle, I was told that Alodine (actually MIL-C-5541 chromi=
um conversion coating, which goes by several trade names, including Alodin=
e) was "the single best thing that could be done to promote paint adhesion=
".  So I'm assumin that thesame holds true for Hysol adhesion.

I suspect that it's not the chromium conversion that helps, rather the pho=
sporic acid etch that is step one of the process.  But don't forget Step=
 Two (the "turn it golden" part), as that's what keeps it from corroding.

I get better results with distilled water for mixing the solution rather=
 than tap water, FWIW.
