Alodine was developed as a prep for paint = primer. It does not penetrate the aluminum and can potentially peel off, t= herefore your bond joint in no stronger than the alodine bond. With that s= aid, alodine does offer improved corrosion protection for the part and the = bond joint. So if you are structural bonding your Garmin 496 bracket to som= ething, it is a good idea.
