Jack,

Having a left main gear not extending due to interference in the wheel well, I suggest that you find a way to increase clearance because air loads, slight structural deformations, wear or unexpected changes in the attach points, may cause a irritating problem. On a landing gear leg normally in design you want much more clearance than 3/32 for components on the landing gear leg.

Thanks Chris for great video.  I have now extended hinge line as much as possible.   SS rod in the extruded al hinge is nice and snug, and prelubricated.

For the record.  The hinge that "came" on the a/c was a carbon fiber make with nylon or ?? inserts.   The pin was quite loose.  The carbon fiber hinge was on for about 150 hours.   Two sections of the carbon fiber hinge had broken off.  I cannot say how loose it was when I first got the a/c 18 months ago.

Now fabricating a longer, by 2", inner gear door attach bracket.

Recently milled from 3/4 inch aluminum stock a bracket to hold the classic landing light to the Outback Gear strut.   Tight fit with about 3/32 gap front and aft on retraction, but it is do able.

Ever onward...
