I had the same problem of the gear not coming down. This is a little disconcerting to the low time Lancair pilot - first time it happened to me was on the fourth flight. The original dump valve supplied by Lancair was not up to the pressures required of it. My theory is that the high pressure leaks down to the low pressure side and pressurizes the low switch. When you go to put the gear down the low pressure switch is already at or above the limit and does not start the pump. Anyway, I found out that Lancair had a new higher rated dump valve which they sold at their cost. The installation was relatively painless. Bottom line is I haven't had a "gear won't come down" experience since (50 hrs).
