I didn't have to adjust mine after paint. But I guess every application could be different. You know its not had to readjust them if you have to after paint.

I'm in the throes of installing my Skybolt cowl fasteners (adjustable SK-213, if I recall correctly).  It's pretty easy, although the fasteners are difficult to engage and disengage with the black adjustment pin still installed.  (The innards are free to spin.) 
 
I tried removing the pin on a non-installed receptacle and it was difficult to put the pin back in for subsequent readjustment.  (Actually it was difficult to pull the locking ring out with a pick.  Once that was accomplished it was easy to reinstall the pin.)
 
My question is this -- if I adjust it properly now, prior to primer and paint, will I need to redjust them after paint?  If not, I'll just set them now and pull out the pins.
