Subject: [LML] Vision Microsystems VM 1000 = problem

My VM1000 has always been a bit of problem, but now the = problems have increased and I need to resolve them.  Any thoughts on any of = these issues?  I=E2=80=99ve been flying the 360 since 2001 and I put the = date the problem started in parentheses):

1.       Leaning mode (never worked since day one).  Pushing = the button to go into the leaning mode has never functioned.  Just = doesn=E2=80=99t do anything.

2.       Amps (February 2010).  I=E2=80=99ve noticed the = amp-meter bouncing around.  It used to be fairly steady in the 18-20 amps range, but = now it is more like 16 for a while, then bounces to 26 or something.  = It=E2=80=99s not related to landing lights, radio com, fuel transfer pumps, or any = evident change in load.  The alternator (B&C) is about 6 years old and = the belt is, according to the A&P, okay but could stand to be a bit tighter.  Voltage regulator is B&C too.

3.       AutoTrack (March 2010).  Just stopped working.  Pushing the button for AutoTrack now does nothing.

4.       Fuel Remaining (May 2010).  Unable to add fuel to = the tank. I can cycle to the =E2=80=9Cadd fuel=E2=80=9D point and then push = buttons to add 10 gal units or 1 gal units =E2=80=93 both register as =E2=80=9Cto be added=E2=80=9D.&n= bsp; But then when I push the button to cycle out of the =E2=80=9CAdd=E2=80=9D mode it doesn=E2=80=99t = register the =E2=80=9Cadd=E2=80=9D.  So it always indicates zero fuel now and I can=E2=80=99t add any!!!  = I=E2=80=99ve tried all sorts of amounts but nothing will work.  It=E2=80=99s been like = this for 4 flights now=E2=80=A6 this is the straw that broke the camels back.  I need = to get this fixed now.  NOTE:  I do still have a header tank gauge and = separate totalizers on each wing.  I am NOT flying without knowing my fuel quantity=E2=80=A6 this is just another check.

Any help would be appreciated, including tips on how to = get in touch with VM=E2=80=A6

Thanks,

Matt
