They will not sell you parts until you register with them.= I have been round and round with them and they will not budge. I am now in= the position where I own an airplane (L-IV) and have no source for replace= ment parts until I sign the extortion form. Aerocrafters.com will sell part= s to anyone but they carry more accessories than service parts. I do not n= eed building support - just the occasional replacement part. As a group we need to ensure a source for replacement parts should the need= arise or the value of airplanes will suffer. I don't mind paying the $300 = fee to Lancair as long as I can derive some benefit on my part. (perhaps a = hat & t-shirt?) I have money and am happy to give it to Lancair in exchange for parts. They= don't want it. This is a strange business model that as an aerospace engi= neer, is beyond me?
