As someone who paid this $300, I'll give you my viewpoints.

I tried this as well and I was told it applies to all Lancair aircraft.  Before I purchased my kit, I called to ask if they still provided support for the 320/360 series.  I was told not only did they still provide support, but they also still had parts.  I was interested in this because I was worried I might be missing components or some may have failed depending on how they were stored.  Further, I also assumed that the factory produced newsletters or had some kind of contact with kit owners.

Since the Lancair web site links to "aerocraftparts.com" I had assumed Kit Components and Aerocraft Parts were the same company.  In fact, I still don't quite understand the difference between them.  The Aerocraft website looks like it hasn't been updated in years.

There is a builder's only portion that you only get access to if you are a registered owner.  I thought that the information would be more useful than what is there.

My welcome letter actually directed me to the LML.  Although, I had known about LML before I purchased the kit as I was doing research into what to look for when buying a kit.

Needless to say, I'm not too happy about it because, in my opinion, the cost of support was built into the original selling price of the kit.  They are additionally imposing requirements on future buyers that were not imposed on the original owner. I see no difference between me finishing this kit and the guy who kept it in his garage for 10 years just starting it now and finishing it.  He wouldn't now just need to agree to additional requirements and pay money for support, yet by just transferring ownership to someone else, now they apply?
