That is a bloody great idea! Never thought of the Walmart Avn dept. Right now I am just interested in getting the plane to the DAR. I know I am going to have to play with the light arrangement later but this is a cheap way to test a few ideas. I know the 'OEM' units are marginal at best and people end up going to the wing tip style for the higher output

Subject: [LML] Wanted - 320/360 Landing Lights
I used a $15 pair of driving lights from the aviation department at Walmart.
They fit just behind the main gear folding link. A Adel cable clamp (3/4" ?)
mounts them conveniently to the tubes on the landing gear leg.
I've seen similar lamps and mounting on several LNC2s. Photo is attached,
but shows the fixture incorrectly positioned.
The bulbs don't last very long, so I buy a couple of sets of lights at a time.
The complete fixtures are cheaper than the replacement bulbs and come with the
connector for easy replacement.
Note that these are landing/taxi lights only, as
they are not visible with the
gear retracted. Also, you may consider an interlock or procedure to ensure
that you don't leave the lights on with the gear retracted. Might get
pretty hot in there.
