Bob, I used silicone sealant to seal the gap between the wing and stub
skin.  Since 99% of lancairs are white this is a viable option.  Obviously
you use white silicone.  The procedure is to put down scotch magic mending
tape down first on either side of the gap.  Apply the silicone caulk next
squeezing it into the gap.  The object here is to fill the gap somewhat but
not over do it.  You want about 1/8" of filling.  You over fill the gap and
then smooth the joint using a razor blade in a linear troweling motion.
Then you remove the scotch tape leaving a beautiful finished joint.  This
is a procedure you need to practice first.  The quicker that the troweling
is done the better the finish.  The silicone polymerizes fairly fast and
touching the "skinned over" siliconemakes the finished product not as nice
looking.  If you can trowel in one step from TE to leading edge that is
optimum.  Do not touch the joint for ~24 hr.  If need be you can get the
wing off (which I had to do to fix a leak-Don't ask) by just slitting the
silicone with a razor blade!  This is a short explanation and I haven't
touched on all the points but it should give you an idea on how to start.
