Ok, now that it has been firmly established that I will believe anything. I am sticking with the Velcro recommendation, pending an in-flight failure on Tom’s plane or my next psychiatric examination.

Uhhhhh….Velcro? If you attach nutplates, as far aft as possible, to the lower aft skin on a shallow standoff that might handle the structure. Industrial strength Velcro could keep the trailing edge from moving too much when the flaps are down (no guarantees).
