Richard, I too used to be happy with my A 36 until Mike Seavall gave me a
ride in his iv-p. After my iv-p was flying the Bonanza sat in the hangar
looking like an old girlfriend that just didn't seem attractive anymore. We
should make our guest pilot passengers sign releases explaining that we
cannot be held liable if they become unhappy with their existing aircraft.
One of the fun things about owning a Lancair are the comments that you get
flying one like I got after landing in San Jose one day taxiing between the
kerosene burners I heard a pilot inquire of ground control what kind of
airplane that was taxiing in front of them & its true air speed . ATC
asked me to oblige and after giving them all the pertinent information I
heard an unidentified voice come over the radio " I want one".
