I reconcile them by saying that he got into THE SPIN that scared the living

Been there, done that.  Early in my student days, I can still see me standing
vertical on the firewall of a Mooney and then pulling out with about 200'
left above the ground.

I told the dumb shit examiner that you don't do full power stalls at 2200 AGL
in a Mooney.   Well, I was right.....dumb to do it, but right.....I did get
my ticket though.

The Mooney did the sweetest snap roll into an vertical spin.  I suppose if I
tried to reproduce it, I couldn't......hmmmmm.   Sara, lets go fly the Mooney
today!

Which brings up the subject of low power stalls in my IV.  No shaking, no
nose dropping, just a flat stall that is only noticeable by seeing the VSI
needle drop a thousand feet or more a minute.
