Stan,

Space, weight and money…always the driving factors in designing and building an airplane… It’s just a matter of choices… J

I don’t know about the value of the aircraft with/without dual rudder pedals, but unless you really need the space, I’d install the dual rudder controls. They are handy for instruction…yours, or your “demonstrating” to others. You said that most of your passengers are not capable of flying the airplane, but there will be a few that are, and most of us have had occasion to allow our passengers to fly, to include take off and landing, from time to time. You could use the logic as a chicken/egg argument: No fully functional right seat controls, so no “passenger” takeoffs or landings?? Makes it easy to say no if that’s your pre-disposition; otherwise, I think  you’ll find them useful…

My two cents…

I'm building a Legacy and I'm trying to complete the Rudder controls. At 6'3" I need as much knee and leg room as possible without resting my feet on the exhaust manifold. So, I'm installing the StarFlight hanging rudder pedals. My question to the group is this:

Should I get both pilot and co-pilot rudder pedals?

- Will I need the co-pilot controls for training?

- Many have said they would not let anyone make a right seat landing in their Legacy and most of my passengers could not land the plane regardless.

- Is the value of a single rudder pedal Legacy materially lower than one with dual controls?

- I am installing an air conditioner evaporator/blower behind the panel and could possibly use the space.

- Are there any other considerations?
