In 2006 I sent the LML counts of Lancairs as obtained from the FAA database:

"Model" was searched using the text shown below.  The number of planes registered may include those not yet flying.  Today I did a similar search to see the changes (Difference, negative means a decrease).

    Nov 2006       Nov 2009       Difference
Model Search Sub-     Sub-     Sub-
Text Sub-Mdl Sub-Mdl Model   Sub-Mdl Sub-Mdl Model   Sub-Mdl Sub-Mdl Model
Lancair     1009       1111       102
Lancair IV   292     310     18
Lancair IVP 223     217     -6
Lancair IVPT 16     13     -3
Lancair ES   58     74     16
Legacy   118     160     42
Lancair Legacy 85     120     35
Lancair 360   123     133     10
Lancair 320   212     218     6
Lancair 235   99     104     5
Lancair 200   6     6
Lancair 320/360       11     11
Totals   908 1009     1005 1111     97 102

I have no idea what "sub-model" was used for the missing Lancairs.  Note that the search is more limiting by the more specific text used (thus categories such as sub-sub-model).

Note the greatest increase over these 3 years was in the "Legacy" category.  Note the decrease in certain IV categories.  In any event, Lancairs generally increased by 10% while Legacy aircraft increased by 36% (at a rate of 1 per month).  But remember that 200-300 series Lancairs still comprise 42% of the Lancair Fleet and 2-seaters are 56% of the fleet.
