For anyone looking to build a Gear Warning system. Here's one I drew up a
while back but haven't had time to build yet.
This is based on a CMOS IC, triple 3 input OR gate, less then a buck. You're
only using one gate.
The nice part about this circuit is that it monitors all three gear
switches. You will get a warning if ANY one of the gear switches are not
grounded.
You can use a micro switch on the flaps, set to 20 or more degs to trigger
the warning or an air pressure switch set to about 100 mph. How ever you'd
like to be warned the gear is still up.
I originally planned on using a piezo horn but any type of indicator could
be adapted like a super bright flashing LED. The LM7812 is advised to
regulate the voltage to the circuit and keep it safe and stable. There's
nothing in this circuit that can cause any damage if installed properly.
I have not yet built this but I'm sure it will work perfectly. Always test
before you install.... Let me know if anyone needs more info about an
installation or any problems.
Sorry about the penciled schematic.
