With the wheel off the= airplane and with the bearings in the races, insert the axle and run a sma= ll =C2=BC=E2=80=9D by 12=E2=80=9D or so alum or steel tube through the bolt= hole in the axle so you can rest the ends of the rod or tube you used on t= o 2 flat surfaces with the wheel suspended and find the heavy side. You may= need to use the nose fork bushings to hold the bearings tight to the races= on the through rod on each side. I used a little masking tape to do this. = I was shocked how out of balance mine was. Use masking tape and temporarily= tape the weight to the wheel and slowly rotate and adjust as necessary. Yo= u may need to trim the width of the weights with a band saw to make them fi= t on the wheel. I split the weight and put half on each side of the wheel. = Do the mains while you are at it. You will be amazed at the difference when= you are rolling fast.=0A=0ARandy Snarr=0AN694RS=0A=0A--- On Mon, 11/23/09,= billhogarty wrote:=0A=0A> From: billhogarty =0A> Subject: [LML] Wheel Balance=0A> To: lml@yahoo.com= =0A> Date: Monday, November 23, 2009, 10:08 AM=0A> With a new nose wheel ti= re and tube,=0A> I thought it prudent to have the wheel balanced.=C2=A0 The= =0A> local tire shops werent able to help out because of the=0A> small size= axle and floating bearings.=0A> =0A> Anyone have any suggestions?=0A> =0A>= Regards, Bill Hogarty=0A> =0A> --=0A> For archives and unsub http://mail.l= ancaironline.net:81/lists/lml/List.html=0A> =0A=0A=0A
