Gents:

I while back I was struggling getting my Cheltons to recognize the smart media card.  I found and ordered new ones and fussed and stewed.

Then Brent Regan supplied this pearl of knowledge and wisdom that changed my life:

“Insert the SSFDC with the gold contacts facing down (Experimental IDU-1) or facing up on the certified IDU-III.”

What?!?  ARE YOU SH1@@ting me!  Where is that in the documentation or on line or at the tech support at the factory?

So, I flipped the card over, gold contacts facing down, as in Experimental IDU-1, and guess what, works like a champ!!

If you ever want to really feel stupid, just go through the process of building an airplane (might as well be a rocket ship to Venus).

I would not have been able to fly to Vegas from Seattle this week (or anywhere else) without your help.  

BTW, the WX is WAY nicer in Vegas than Seattle.
