A month ago we made a 10 min. flight to buy gas. On the
way back about 5 min. out at 2500 ft. AGL we got a “Check Oil Pressure”
annunciation. It was about 70 psi from a normal 45 psi oil pressure
when I looked. The pressure was varying from 60 to over 90 but all other
temps were normal and the engine seemed unaffected. As my mind was
racing through the options, that 5 minutes took a looong time to pass.
My first call was to Electronics International to see if the MVP-50
Engine Monitor had any similar history. David Campbell at EI told
me the first place to check was the connectors. It was the Molex (I know,
I know) ahead of the firewall. I had some Fastons (I know, I know) supplied
by EI so they solved the problem for now. The EI people have always
been very helpful and do whatever it takes to address any issue I have had.
