In the absence of heat, have you ever seen plastic melt? Locktite 242 will do it every time! At the time, it seemed reasonable to add a drop of 242 to the nuts and bolts which hold the two halves of a plastic D- sub shell together. Not a good idea. Within 24hrs, the 242 will melt the plastic. My dual Lightspeed ignition system uses 4 connectors and shells, all shells melted around the threads and had to be replaced. Angier Ames N4zq
