Will,

There is an old version and new version of the Michael's Sticky Stuff dispenser.  I would recommend disassembling the pump including the pistons.  Then, call Michael's and tell them what you've got.  When I talked to them they were very helpful and willing to explain what to do to clean mine up, but it was helpful to have it apart to be able to describe its condition.

Subject: Epoxy Pump Rebuild

I have a Michael Engineering Sticky Stuff Dispenser.  I bought it used in pretty good shape.  I cleaned it up and all, but I am having trouble with it.  When I pull the plunger down, it goes, but it does not go up easily.  Do I need to unscrew the pump parts where the cylinders are and soak those in acetone or denatured alcohol?  I bought new reservoirs, but what is included in the rebuild kits Aircraft Spruce sells?  Has anyone ever send one back to Michael to get it reman-ed or should I just buy a new one?  Thanks!
