I'm sure no-one has ever done this before but...
My Lancair has been in the garage for so long that I had forgotten just how little clearance I had on each side of the stub wing. About an inch, give or take an 1/8th. Had to remove the outer gear doors to get through. The stub wings made it through OK but the HS did not. :-(

I had just fired up the GX60 and was getting good data from 6 SV's in the shop so I figured, lets go outside and maybe we'll get two more. Having just fit the towbar attachment to the nose strut, seemed like as good a time as any to take it for a test drive.  A word to the wise, don't turn your nose wheel before moving your plane completely through the narrow garage door opening.

So the right HS leading edge has its first ding, at least to wasn't a bird strike!
I briefly thought about submitting a damage claim to AIG but, I remembered that I'm uninsured....
