Is there a speed limit for the deployment
of speed brakes on a Lancair IV?

Question??
I know of 2 versions of the speed brakes, one group was built by a iv-p
builder and sold sporadically ( I happened to buy that kind)
the board malfunctioned and the system shorted out, after multiple
inquiries I was unable to get it fixed. had to convert to the regular
speed brakes as marketed by lancair, the company is in redmond. to my bad luck the wing opening was
too small for the design and we had to reopen
and repot the glass holder and rewire the system a major undertake. Jim
Maddox was the builder of the original series.
Not being supported any longer, never did function as supposed to,
shorted out on the way out and shorted out on the way in, the standard ones
seem to work all the time

Question??
This is a photo of the aero option brake installed on my LIVP.
Hello Jeff,
I am planning on taking a picture, but have been on the road for quite awhile.
I will look into Aero Options to see if it looks similar to there design.

Guy

Probably the fastest way to get an answer is to show a picture of the
blades. It is (most likely) either Precise Flight or Aero Options (of Mattawa, Washington).
I have a new set of speed brakes that were removed from a IVP. The
speed brakes are electric 24v, and have a small motor on the side of each. The
construction looks very good, just wondering if there is anyone out there that
has any info on these? There are no markings that tell who the manufacture is,
etc.
Thanks,
