I believe that we suck in 1/2 of the cubic inches every revolution, =20
therefore:

        360 x 2,700 / 2 =3D 486,000 CIM

    or  486,000 / ( 12 x 12 x 12 ) =3D 281.25 CFM

That means that at 105 kts (our best glide and climb speed), the =20
diameter of the air intake (d) should be:

        ( ( =CF=80 x ( d / 2 )**2 ) / 2 ) x 105 x 1.15 * 5,280 / 60  =3D =
=20
281.25

    or  ( ( =CF=80 x ( d / 2 )**2 ) / 2 ) x 10,626 =3D 281.25

    or  d =3D ( 281.25 / 10,626 x 2 / =CF=80 )**(1/2) x 2

        d =3D .259616 feet

    or  d =3D .259616 x 12 =3D 3.12 inches

and for the 320 engines at 250 CFM

we need a diameter of:

        d =3D 2.94 inches
