I've seen several IVs... Have never noticed any upsweep on elevator ends??? Sorry Steve Buller, 650 Hrs in=20 -----Original Message----- From: Lancair Mailing List [mailto:lml@lancaironline.net] On Behalf Of Bill Wade Sent: Monday, December 01, 2008 6:21 PM To: lml@lancaironline.net Subject: [LML] IV Elevator ends This picture shows the end of the LH elevator- it's sanded down to the skin but has a pronounced upsweep, about 1/4" at the highest point. The RH is very similar. Lancair told me this is intended to act as an air dam to keep air from spilling off the end, however they also said it could be flattened out if I wanted. Since the stablilizer tips are flat it takes a fair amount of micro to match the profile. I haven't seen many IV's in person and didn't know enough to look for this item. The ones I have pictures of appear to be flat at the ends. Is this something new? Has anyone built angled tips? I'd appreciate a photo if possible- Thanks- Bill Wade=20
