Christian,
The servo is definitely too fast in high speed flight.  I use a switch that toggles between bus voltage and the output of a 5V voltage regulator.
My tab is about 2 inches wider than in the plans and still use most of the travel to trim for approach configuration with full flaps.

Subject: [LML] Elevator trim tab

My Elev. trimtab does not have enough authoroty during landing configuration.
I have a Lancair 360 with 390X engine, long engine mount, MKII tail and no original trim spring system installed.
My Trimtab is 4" smaller  than the manual says. My CofG at MTOW is about in the middle.
On long final with full trim up I need to pull about 1kg to keep a stable descend.
Would it help to add the Trim spring system or should I increase the size of the trim tab, or both together?
The reason of making the trimtab smaller was following: Many Lancairpilots told me  that the elev trim is too agressive.
It would be better to change the speed of the servo. Is there an easy way to make the mac servo move slower?
Christian
