Gents,
The Southwest
Lancair Builders and Flyers luncheon will be hosted this Saturday (15 Nov) by
Rene Rey near Austin. Rene has a Lancair IV (not P) powered by a
Continental 520. Our group assisted in topping his IV back in the spring
of 06 (I believe). And of course putting the top on a IV is the signal to
dash for the finish. Thus, I'm excited to see the status of Rene's fine
ship. Like everyone however, the standard excuse matrix applies.... New
Job, New House, Moved Aircraft, etc. Never,
....Never, .........Never,,.......... Never Give Up!
Rene now lives on a
grass strip 5 miles east of Georgetown. His field identifier is
07TS. The grass surface is fine if you are a grass strip
connoisseur. Some local aircraft that operate off the grass include an S2,
a Mooney, a Grumman and of course lots of slower flyers. I get a little
weak in the legs thinking about rebushing my landing gear. So I'll be
landing in Georgetown (GTU). Planned arrival GTU will be on the ground @
9:45. Thence, surface plan departs GTU promptly @ 10:00.
If you plan on
landing Georgetown it would help us with transport planning if you would
RSVP. Please drop a note to myself or Rene and we'll follow
up.
Lunch will be off
the grill at Rene's home.
This would be a
great time to meet some of you San Antonio/ Austin area folks that have long
been on our distribution list. Hope you can come. And luckily fuel prices
can no longer be an excuse :)
