Very informative and insightful. I have a Legacy with a Performance Engines IO-550 using the 6310 mags. The airplane has about 250 hrs and has been trouble free for the most part. Absolutely NO engine/ignition problems at all. I have a few questions for John,Tom and/or the group: * Is this a common problem, have others experienced issues or failures with the 6310 mags? * Does anyone (including Unison) have a clue as to what might be causing these pre-mature failures? * The service bulletin states that when you change a mag or update it, you then pull it again and again to re-inspect it. That looks like a LOT of work. With the upper deck induction and fuel injection on this engine, does ALL that have to be removed to pull a mag or can you somehow slide it out with at least some of that in place? * Any further information or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again John and Tom!! Regards, Erik Larson N74FX **************It's only a deal if it's where you want to go. Find your travel deal here.
