Gents,

Glass discs can be obtained from Edmund optics (http://www.edmundoptics.com/). I have used one in my AIrLite (http://www.leadingedgeaircraft.com/airliteintro.htm) for years with a 100 watt coverless projector lamp. The leg light comes on when the gear goes is down and locked on approach to every airport.

the 75w spots at Home Depot. They work great.. I also used a rubber O ring for
a spacer/Seal. Works well...

Maybe you could strap the 2nd light to your hat like the miners do...
