Its not so simple as it was back in 1989. The Tygon tubing that=20 Lancair supplied then was for food systems. If you still have a piece,= =20 check the code printed on the tube. Since then Tygon has become the=20 purveyor of many types of tubes - Look at this web site for fuel tubing:

Don is certainly right about what Lancair distributed with its kits and= =20 using that tubing should certainly be avoided. However, if I were= uh,=20 forced to use such lines today, I would choose something like those fuel lin= es=20 referenced at the Tygon web site. I became fearful of the=20 original lines in 1991 and used Teflon with SS braid for all engine flu= id=20 lines, wherever they travel in the aircraft - I haven't had to change a= ny=20 of them in the 12 years I have been flying.

Beware of Tygon fuel lines, in a couple of years i= n=20 100LL, Tygon becomes hard and shrinks a bit, not a good thing=20 especially in tight bends etc.. Polyurathane is a better handler of=20 100LL and remains in good shape over the 5 years life span that I=20 use. Don Skeele A&P
