Dow Corning 4 is a silicone based compund that according to my A&P works great for that purpose.  Provides a good seal without being difficult to clean up when replacing the gasket if you ever have to remove these components in the future.  Just apply a small amount to each face of the gasket.

For installing new gaskets for these items is there anything I need to use on the gaskets or do I just install the gaskets ask they come and bolt everything up?
