Guys,

Thanks for the quick responses.  I have ordered a new ECI cylinder after getting a compression of 80/58 in the one offending cyclinder.  FWI, it appears that ECI shipped a batch of bad rings a year or so ago.  I talked to the distributor in my area and he said that ECI shipped a batch of defective rings in which the laser weld within the rings was improperly utilized at the factory.  The apparent remedy is to replace the offending rings.  I've ordered a complete new cylinder, piston, rings, etc.  I plan on sending the cyclinder back for evaluation.  Maybe a factory problem/Maybe not.

I threw out the additive idea to see if it would "stick to the wall".  Thanks for the learnered response, it's much appreciated.  I would not have gone to NAPA and thrown in a can of STP or some other automotive gouoo, but thought there might be an aviation equivalent.  After taking to my AP/IA, I pretty much tossed that idea out.  I really appreciate the responses, I'd much rather be slapped around on the ground then have bigger issues in the air.  Air Wolf oil separator is on the UPS truck coming my way.
