Tom , I used to have a "shimmy" or vibration when braking.

As it had been present since I bought the aircraft I thought it was "normal". I discovered down the track that one of the attach bolts for the nose gear (I think they are AN10 bolts) was bent perhaps as a result of a hard landing (the aircraft had had a prop strike) or poor xwind landing.
