It's best to apply that with some cement glue ... I have had them come off
my glider when not using the cement glue, and my Vne is only 156Knots,
I run my final glides close to Vne.

FYI, I tried the gap seals from Wings & Wheels on my Legacy.  They
consist of the curved mylar strips, a double-sticky tape for putting
them on, and another tape layer over the leading edge.  The majority of
the seals I applied departed the aircraft in the first flight or two!  
Seems the glider stickum isn't up to the airspeeds of the Legacy.  And
no, I didn't notice any difference in control forces with or without
them present.  [They stayed put on an earlier ES that I built.]
