It works, and they are building their first pilot plant to create about 1000 gallons per day. It requires Ethanol, which is converted in the process to an AvGas equivalent with zero lead / zero sulphur. It will be a few years before enough is produced to significantly impact the market. Interestingly, there are at least 3 other firms I know of who have gene-spliced bacteria which eat garbage and poop petroleum.
