Gary Hall is the source of the hinge pin kits. (garyhall@ix.netcom.com,
954-971-9731)   Both of my ailerons used to vibrate as the fuel level would drop
in the wing tanks.  The ID had opened up several 1/1000th (can't remember the
number) after 250 hours of use.  On one aileron I replace the entire hinge and
on the other only the pin.   Now neither aileron vibrates and after 150
additional hours, I cannot detect any further wear.  Even if there is wear and
future maintenance becomes necessary, the Teflon is now the sacrificial element
and this is immensely easier to replace than an entire hinge.
Is it weaker?  Of course it is.  But reducing a safety factor from 30 to 15 has
no bearing on the structure other than saving weight.  Given the hinge pin
material used in this mod, it would take about 14,000 lb of pull on the aileron
to shear the pin.  It's not an issue.
