Ed,

I make it a practice to always open my own fuel caps so that I can touch the
caps BEFORE I open them.  I've never experienced a zap yet,  but that doesn't
mean it won't happen.  This procedure was recomended to me by Mike Schrader
(sp?) a long time ago when I was faced with the same decision on whether to
ground or not.  Due to the low probability of an explosion due to static
charge, I decided not to pursue the matter and did not ground the fuel
caps/filler area.  However, I do practice the above mentioned procedure.

Rick

PS  Hope things are going well with your IV....  N360ZR is going for paint
middle part of next month.  Maybe I'll drop by for a visit again soon after
the paint is completed...
