I observerved a situation on a friends' Legacy this = past=20 weekend that I feel is important enough to pass along to fellow=20 Lancairians.  It's a new Legacy with an IO-550 with about 80 hours = on=20 it.  When he removed the top cowl he noticed some blue fuel residue = near=20 one of the injectors and investigated further.  It turns out that = the SS=20 line to that cylinder had been rubbing on the bottom of an intake runner = and had=20 rubbed through the line.  Fortunately he caught it early enough = before it=20 became a major leak.  This happens to be a "custom built" engine = but this=20 could certainly happen to any injected engine, especially a Continental = where=20 the lines tend to be hidden under intake runners.  Let's be careful = out=20 there and give a look at this next time you have the top cowl = off.
