The gap is a consistent .032. Warning: I once used PermaTex silver goop, advertised for plug anti-seize, and found it fouled the plugs badly, quickly and irreversably. I had beneficially used the stuff for the exhaust pipes slip fit and noted that it turns to a very thin penetrating liquid at high heat leaving a deposit of the silvery stuff behind. Good for the exhaust, bad for the plugs. I currently use the standard Champion anti-seize with no problem.
