I am aware of a Legacy that made two dead stick landings, both successful, after dual ignition failure. The designer had added an over temp switch to protect the electronics, however there was no indication to the pilot when a system shutdown until both systems shutdown. My understanding is that the thermal switches have been removed from units in the field. If they run hot they run until some other component fails.
