If you are going to fly the airplane within the design envelope, it
probably isn't necessary. I haven't heard of any tails being twisted
off. I understand that there may be additional concern from folks with the
MKII tail as the larger surface could impute greater stress. It is
not easy to work back there once the tail is closed out. Perhaps others
will chime in.
