Hi to All , Thought I'd send a picture of an access
panel from an airplane we're fixing. The " Professional " builder wishes to
remain anonymous. This elevator trim motor is attached to this panel and 2 of
the screws had pulled through and the others were about too. Evidently the panel
didn't fit flush after bodywork materials built up under the corners . The
solution ? Grind away the edges of the panel till it fit ! Problem though, now
the panel measures .02thin and you can see the results in the photo. What were
they thinking ?
We fab'd a new panel and scraped the crap out of
the corners, no problem.
Be careful who you have work on your airplane.
